stock is a unit of ownership in a company — If you own a stock, that makes you a shareholder, meaning that you may be eligible to receive dividends if the company succeeds.

An initial public offering (IPO) refers to the process of offering shares of a private corporation to the public in a new stock issuance. An IPO allows a company to raise capital from public investors. The transition from a private to a public company can be an important time for private investors to fully realize gains from their investment as it typically includes a share premium for current private investors. Meanwhile, it also allows public investors to participate in the offering.

Stock markets in Bangladesh remain closed on Friday. The market also doesn’t open for trading on Saturday and trading holidays.

The trade takes place from Sunday to Thursday except holidays declared in advance by the Exchange. The market timings of normal trading session are:

The stock market is where buyers and sellers come together to trade shares in eligible companies.

A broker is a member of a stock exchange, who is permitted to do equity trades in there. 

In other word broker is an intermediate person (or a company) between an investor and a stock exchange. They buy & sell shares and other securities for investors in stock market.

Please note that an investor cannot directly deal with stock exchange.

dividend is a payment from a company to its shareholders, giving them a portion of the company’s earnings. Dividends are often paid yearly and in cash or stocks.

The answer in two words is ‘Demand & Supply‘. Simply if there is more demand of a company shares and less people are willing to sell them, the share will move upwards. If there is a huge supply but no body is interested in buying shares at the current price, the share will move downwards.

Now the major question is how does demand or additional supply comes in to the market and the answer is, there are many factors involve in this including company’s financial result, overall economy situations, sector performance, government rules & regulations, major political & natural events, future of the company, upcoming products & services, company management changes, stock market frauds  etc.
